The Government of Yukon’s Department of Environment maintains a series of ecological and landscape classification publications for the territory. To date, many of these have used a standardized format and have been produced as printed books. When we were awarded the Wetland Ecosites of the Yukon project, we learned that this publication would not be printed—instead, they felt it would predominantly viewed on tablets such as iPads and Surfaces in the field. Given that, we suggested embracing a new design and structure intended for on-screen viewing.
